Community Safety
As a firefighter and longtime public servant, community safety has always been at the center of my life's work. Residents deserve safe neighborhoods, well-supported first responders, and proactive solutions that address issues before they become problems. I have been a strong advocate for restoring School Resource Officers in our schools because I believe the safety of our children, teachers, and families must remain a top priority. I will continue working to ensure our police, fire, and emergency services have the resources they need to keep West Sacramento a safe place to live, work, and raise a family.
Proper Maintenance of Infrastructure
I believe one of the most important responsibilities of local government is maintaining the infrastructure that residents depend on every day. That means investing in our roads, landscaping, parks, water systems, and other public assets before they fall into disrepair. We must also address critical transportation needs, including improving entry and exit points into West Sacramento such as the Enterprise Bridge, which will become increasingly important as our city grows. Lastly, West Sacramento has unique infrastructure needs that demand attention—by evaluating and upgrading our man-made lakes to keep them healthy, full, and sustainable for future generations.
Responsible Growth
West Sacramento continues to attract new residents and investment, which means responsible planning is more important than ever. Development should be balanced with infrastructure improvements, public safety needs, environmental considerations, and the preservation of our community character. Areas such as Yarborough, Brar Farms, and portions of the Port of Sacramento present significant opportunities, but those opportunities must be approached thoughtfully and with meaningful community input. My goal is to ensure growth enhances our quality of life while protecting the interests of current residents and positioning our city for long-term success.
Economic Development
West Sacramento has tremendous potential to become a destination for visitors, businesses, and families throughout the region. The arrival of Major League Baseball presents a unique opportunity to showcase our city and generate economic activity that benefits local businesses and residents. I also want to see additional amenities that encourage people to spend their time and money in West Sacramento, including quality dining, shopping, entertainment, recreational opportunities, and attractions such as a golf course. At the same time, we must preserve and maximize the value of the Port of Sacramento by pursuing economic development that respects its historic role while creating new opportunities for jobs, investment, and long-term prosperity.
